Join the Western Wheelers Bicycle Club on Sunday June 1, 2025 at The Sequoia for a thrilling cycling experience set amidst the captivating coastal mountains and redwood forests of the San Francisco Bay Area. With a variety of course options including a Century, a 75-mile Challenge, a Metric Century, and a 38-mile Fun Ride, The Sequoia offers a chance to immerse yourself in the "Challengingly Beautiful" mountain scenery that defines our region. Hosted entirely by dedicated volunteers, our mission is to foster a love for recreational cycling in the Bay Area's stunning landscape, welcoming cyclists of many levels to revel in the excitement and camaraderie of our event. Beyond the ride, your participation supports local coastside communities and cycling organizations. To date, the Western Wheelers Bicycle Club has donated over $76,400 from The Sequoia to Coastside charities and cycling organizations. Route Choices There are four challengingly beautiful routes to choose from, with varying prices:The 100 mile Century Pink Course For details about each route, including links to the RideWithGPS files, see the page 2025 Sequoia Routes. For each route choice, there is an additional option to donate $25 towards the Coastside charities.Electronic Navigation In addition to the standard navigation provided by RideWithGPS, during the event you can enjoy free access to the paid navigation features of the RideWithGPS smartphone app, including turn-by-turn voice navigation and offline maps. To get started, visit the Sequoia 2025 RideWithGPS Event page and click on the RSVP button. You'll be prompted to set up a free account if you don't already have one. After you successfully RSVP, you will receive an email with details and instructions for downloading and using the app. Start Times
Finish Line Activities and Timing After crossing the finish line, you will be welcomed with chocolate milk to celebrate your ride and replenish your fluids. After getting your bike parked in the valet parking area, a delicious buffet lunch/dinner is offered to all participants. Lunch will be served from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm. If riders finish earlier they are welcome to find a place to rest and wait. Depending on supplies, box meals may be available until 6 pm, at which point the finish line will be completely shutdown. Check-In Required before the ride You must check-in before the ride to get your wristband and route sheet. There are two options:
Photography Photography support is provided by Captivating Sports Photos. Photographers will be taking pictures at the start and at various points along the route. Numbered stickers to attach to your helmet will be provided at Check-In. You can search for your photos by uploading a selfie, or by helmet sticker number.
