Very sad about losing Troy

I was very sad to hear the news about Troy.  He was a very upbeat person, always ready with a light joke or something interesting to say.  I was chatting with him on a recent ride and he told me he had met his yearly goal of riding 10,000 miles and doing 1 Million feet of climbing.  Wow.  He took great  pictures on rides, even submitting a picture to the Photo contest of a “Roadside Kiss” with Mona and me.  He greatly added to the joy of riding HRU.  I will miss him.

I wanted to do something, so I put up a wreath on the road near where the accident happened.  It's on the side of the street going North on Los Gatos-Saratoga Rd (Hwy 9) at Carnelian Glen Ct.  It’s just about across the street from the turn off  to Villa Montalvo.

I’m so sorry to hear the terrible news. I’ve known Troy for at least 20 years meeting him at ACTC rides. I always enjoyed riding with Troy and laughing about funny things he would say. He will missed. My sympathy for Troy’s family.

@Peter - Let me encourage you to take this wonderful memory of Troy and add it as a post on the original page, rather than a comment on my post. It will be more visible that way, so more will enjoy it. Thanks.

We walk in the area several days a week, and saw your wreath today. It is a beautiful gesture, and led us to read about your friend. Thoughts of strength to Troy's family and those of you who knew and loved him.

I use to meet Troy at CBC and we would wait for the HRU gang to show up. He was a fun guy with a great sense of humor. I enjoyed his company. One time we thought maybe we had missed the group and rode on to Mt. Eden. Only to find the HRU Gang were BEHIND us. Oooops! We laughed and had fun. It was a great ride. I will miss him very much.
