HillsRUs rolls weekly on Wednesdays

Route often includes Hwy 9, Page Mill, Old La Honda, Kings Mountain, West Alpine or Tunitas Creek. Always be prepared for variable weather on Skyline. Foul weather in the hills keeps the ride in the valley.

Start location and route announced Monday prior, via wwbc-rides email list and this page (scroll down to the blog).

Meet at 8:45 AM and roll at 9:00 AM departure. DE riders will depart first, C+ will follow.

Ride Leaders rotate weekly - Don Johann, Shawnery Hardin, Jack Jones and Steve Rempel, with guest appearances by Michael Khaw, Gary Virshup, Cathy Switzer, and others.

    This week's route contains a short bike-path connector Google Maps doesn't know about, so it's in 2 parts. 48 miles, 3400 ft. ACTC goats: MEN Mt. Eden/Pierce, PHO Peach Hill/Ojai, SKE Shannon Kennedy. Lunch is at about mile 30 at the Los Gatos Town Plaza Park, so it'll be late, around 1:30-2 pm. The post lunch route meanders through Monte Sereno/Saratoga but we could shorten it by 2-3 miles by taking Hwy 9 to Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd instead.

  • Mt. Eden/Pierce, Sanborn, Hwy 9

    36 miles, 4000 ft. ACTC goats: MEN Mt. Eden/Pierce, SNB Sanborn, 9NU Hwy 9 North Upper. No lunch stop (bring lunch to eat at CDF fire station near Saratoga Gap). Rain cancels, heavy fog or high winds changes route. I'm hoping this keeps us mostly in the shade for climbs, and it'll be pleasant up on Skyline.
