HillsRUs rolls weekly on Wednesdays

Route often includes Hwy 9, Page Mill, Old La Honda, Kings Mountain, West Alpine or Tunitas Creek. Always be prepared for variable weather on Skyline. Foul weather in the hills keeps the ride in the valley.

Start location and route announced Monday prior, via wwbc-rides email list and this page (scroll down to the blog).

Meet at 8:45 AM and roll at 9:00 AM departure. DE riders will depart first, C+ will follow.

Ride Leaders rotate weekly - Don Johann, Shawnery Hardin, Jack Jones and Steve Rempel, with guest appearances by Michael Khaw, Gary Virshup, Cathy Switzer, and others.

    I'm reorganizing some of the directory structure of the image files used on the Western Wheelers website to reduce clutter and chaos. I don't know how smart the underlying service is about it. If it isn't some of the older posts on this blog may suffer "broken image" links. I'll fix them up as they're found.

    It is going to be great weather so let’s do Kennedy Shannon with the option to come back via Mike’s Los Gatos Maze.

    Ride Leader Steve Chapel

    The route contains a short bike-path connector to Deodar Ln. 48 miles, 3400 ft. ACTC goats: MEN Mt. Eden/Pierce, PHO Peach Hill/Ojai, SKE Shannon Kennedy. Lunch is at about mile 30 at the Los Gatos Town Plaza Park, so it'll be late, around 1:30-2 pm. The post lunch route meanders through Monte Sereno/Saratoga but we could shorten it by 2-3 miles by taking Hwy 9 to Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd instead.

     We'll do the Quarry, Moody, Foothills Park, Alpine to Joaquin, Westridge the easier way, and finish up with St. Francis and La Cresta. 40 miles, 4100 ft. ACTC goats: Moody Road, Alpine East, Westridge. No lunch stop planned but there's an option to go to Amigos restaurant in the Ladera shopping center on Alpine. Rain cancels.
