Bohlman/On Orbit, Oh No!!!

35 miles, 4500? ft. Easy warmup via the Maze, up the hard way to the end of Bohlmann via Norton, Kittredge, Quickert, On Orbit. Return via Bohlman, Pierce/Mt. Eden. ACTC goats: BOO Bohlman/On Orbit, MEN Mt. Eden/Pierce. No lunch stop, bring lunch to eat at regroup at top of Bohlman. Also bring low gears for the 22-23% section of On Orbit, and good tires for the fast, steep descent—we don't want any blowouts on the way down! Rain cancels, sweltering heat may alter route.

Distance:  37.38 miles (2 miles off because Google Maps insists on going 1 mile along unpaved Montevina Trail before turning around)

    11 Western Wheelers, 2 ACTC members and 2 members of both clubs came for this leg buster on the hottest day of a warm summer week! Everyone made it to the top and tolerated the growling/barking Rottweiler and Doberman (thankfully behind a stout fence), and made it back down safely.

    My altimeter only recorded 3500 ft in 35 miles for a 100 ft/mile ride.
