A fabulous and challenging climb, this route takes us first to beautiful South Lake (el. 9,835'), then to Lake Sabrina (el. 9,138’).  Good lunch option at Lake Sabrina overlooking the lake – see route sheet for water/food options. LONG option starts in Bishop. SHORT option starts at Forks Campground at the South Lake Road junction. The EZ START option (need carpool) follows the SHORT route, then glides all the way back down to Bishop. This ride is co-listed with ACTC.

EASTERN SIERRA ESCAPE TOUR INFO (Please REGISTER if attending)

LONG START: Meet at the Creekside Inn at 725 N Main St. in Bishop, CA. at 8:15 am for a prompt 8:30 departure.

SHORT/EZ START: Meet at Forks Campground at the junction of Hwy 168 and South Lake Road at 8:45 for a prompt 9:00 departure. From Creekside Inn, go R on Main Street, R on Hwy 168. At the junction with South Lake Road (15 miles from Bishop) turn L then R into campground - park by restroom in "Day Parking". Water/Restroom available at start.
