EASTERN SIERRA – DEVILS POSTPILE/LAKE MARY

From Mammoth Lakes, we’ll climb over Minaret Summit (el. 9,265’) on our way to Devils Postpile National Monument. Bring shoes/flip flops for the optional easy hike up to the postpiles (easy .8 mile RT). Both routes then double back over the summit and back to town. The LONG route adds the additional climb to Lake Mary (el. 9,000’) and adds 9 miles/1000’. Lunch near the end of the ride at the Old New York Deli & Bakery, 6201 Minaret Rd. This ride is co-listed with ACTC. NOTE: Due to ongoing road construction there is a short gravel section - about 200 yards.

SHORT/LONG START: Meet in front of the Emperia High Sierra Hotel, 3228 Main Street in Mammoth Lakes at 8:15 for a prompt 8:30 departure. NOTE: Parking is posted for 2 hour maximum at the start, so I recommend leaving your packed car at your overnight accommodations and riding over to the start location.
