LDT RIDE: CAZADERO WEEKEND
Join us for some spectacular riding north of the Russian River. This is a hilly ride for all groups (B riders should be fairly strong B riders). After wandering North along Austin Creek Road, B riders will take the direct route to the coast over hilly Fort Ross Road then descend beautiful Meyers Grade. C/D/E riders will climb the breath-taking King Ridge Rd. Bring food and enough water for 35 to 45 miles between facilities, as potential lunch stops are near the end of the ride. Rain cancels. MEETING TIME: 8:45 am for 9:00 departure - NOTE EARLY START TME!
MEETING LOCATION: Monte Rio Public Beach parking lot by bridge (20396 Bohemian Highway, Monte Rio, CA). Driving time from Palo Alto is about 2.5 hours (10-15 minutes from Occidental). There are restrooms/water at the start.
ACCOMMODATIONS: We have blocked 20 rooms at The Occidental Lodge (occidentallodge.com) at a rate of $159.95 per night. Reservations will be accepted starting 12/1/23. To book a room contact lodge via phone at 707-874-3623. Occidental Lodge is 7 miles from Saturday ride start. There are also various accommodations available in the Monte Rio/Guerneville area. Our Saturday wine/cheese party and group dinner will be in Occidental. Sunday ride now starts in Occidental. No group camping arrangement at Casini Ranch. For anyone wishing to camp individuals can still reserve individual campsites at Casini Ranch (casiniranch.com).
