Meet Daphne Cheng (daphne.cwc@gmail.com, 310-210-0930) and Wasi Wahid (415-846-9466) at 8:30 AM at Felton Covered Bridge Park for a 8:45 AM start. There are many famous hills in Santa Cruz mountains. Join us for this exploratory ride this Saturday! This is not an easy ride and we will pace ourselves while enjoying the redwood scenery.
The ride starts at Felton. We will make our way to Santa Cruz via Graham Hill Rd. We then head to Big Basin, climbing Empire Grade, descending Jamison Creek Rd and climbing China Grade. Lunch at Big Basin general store. After lunch, we will retrace our way back, climbing Jamison Creek Rd and enjoying downhills on Empire Grade. We will take a small detour at mile 53 to tackle Ice Cream Grade before heading back to Felton.
There may not be shops for water/snack before Big Basin. Please bring enough water and food for 35 miles.
A shortcut route is available after lunch if you want to avoid Jamison Creek and Ice Creak Grade climb: Take Big Basin Hwy and Hwy 9 to Felton.

Driving directions: Take Hwy 17 and exit at the Scotts Valley/Mt. Hermon Rd exit. Continue on Mt Hermon Rd thru Scotts Valley, 3.8 miles until you reach a T intersection at Graham Hill Rd, the park is across Graham Hill Rd at the intersection.
