FFS RIDE:  ROAD TO HENRY COE STATE PARK

B/3/44; C/3/44; D/3/48    

C-/2 (2400) 49 (Alternate C- option)

This route is the way to Henry Coe State Park. The road starts going up about 10 miles from the start, at an average 8% grade (400 ft up over one mile). A 200 ft descent leads to the Anderson dam and a nice picnic area. The real climb starts after the picnic area: About 7.5 miles of climbing at a 7% average with steeper sections along the way. The good news is that the only way back to the start is mostly downhill. The views from the ranger station located near the top are spectacular. Soft drinks and snacks await at the ranger station, while the route stops briefly for lunch at Erik's Deli near the end of the ride. Rain cancels. Online route sheets/maps/GPS.

Note: There are two C- ride options on this ride.  The first C- group will ride the Road to Henry Coe, listed above as C/3/44.  The second C- group will ride the same route as the Morgan Hill LDT C route, listed above as C-/2 (2400) 49 (Alternate C- option).  It offers straight, flat roads across beautiful fields and a climb up scenic Gilroy Hot Springs Rd. Bring ENOUGH FOOD AND WATER to last 40 miles before the lunch break in Morgan Hill.  Route sheets will be provided at the start for all options).

MEETING TIME: Meet at 9:15 am for 9:30 departure

MEETING LOCATION: Uvas Reservoir Park (14350 Uvas Road, Morgan Hill, CA), take the Tennant Rd exit, off 101. Right on Tennant. Left on Monterey, Right on Watsonville Rd, Right on Uvas Rd.

RIDE GROUPS:  New riders or guests are encouraged to review our ride categorization system (A-E) on the club website.  The FFS offers rides for B, C-, C+, and D riders.  In most cases the B ride will follow the C route.
