C-/4/40 Arastradero Alpine Julietta
When
Wed, January 01, 2025
9:45 AM
Location
Burgess Park, Alma and Burgess, Menlo Park
Start 2025 with a refreshing gravel climbing. Join
Fredo Cirne
(
walfredo.cirne@gmail.com
, 408-931-4133) for a little tour on Peninsula classics. We will do Arastradero, Alpine, Julietta and some path less pedaled to get there.
We meet at Burgess Park in Menlo Park, at the parking lot at Alma St and Burgess Dr, at 9:45 for a 10:00 am departure. We’ll eat outside Stanford's Treehouse towards the end of the ride. Bring your own lunch as the Treehouse is closed on New Years Day.
This ride is great fun, very scenic, with low traffic. But keep in mind it contains a good amount of gravel. I'd recommend a gravel or city bike with 38mm tires or more. A mountain bike will do just fine, of course. That said, if you are comfortable doing gravel with skinny 28mm tires, all the power to you! Also, keep in mind that e-bikes are not allowed in Mid Peninsula Open Space, which covers part of this ride, unless you have a medical need for the assist.
