Meet William Mueller (k2_stp@yahoo.com, 408 464-3092) at Ortega Park 636 Harrow Way Sunnyvale at 9:15 for a 9:30 START.
Starting from Ortega Park we work our way south to Saratoga to enjoy a climb up idyllic Canon Road. After a stop to gape at giant cacti, we head past the topiary on Hillview Drive and on to Los Gatos. Continuing through neighborhoods, we join Kennedy Road to climb to the trailhead for Sierra Azul, then descend a bit before climbing up to Shannon summit. A long downhill takes us to Vasona Park. We then head back north to our starting point.

At about mile 28 on the route, at More and Pollard in the shopping plaza with Safeway is CRUST Sourdough Deli and also a sushi place and a Baskin Robbins. We will stop there to buy lunch, then continue 0.5 miles to Jack Fischer Park to have a picnic lunch.
