Join Daphne, Wasi, Randall and Diana as we head north this coming weekend to take advantage of this unusual pre-spring weather and ride some beautiful quiet back roads south and east of Anderson, Ca.
On this self-supported ride we’ll gather on Friday and start at 8:30am Saturday @ the Best Western Anderson Inn.
Anderson is on I – 5 just north of Red Bluff, an easy 4 hour drive north of the Mountain View area.
Reserve your room now if you’d like to go, for one or both days!
Our pre and post ride meals will be in the adjacent restaurants and there are some gas stations and rural stores on route.
But do bring some of your favorite energy snacks and two water bottles for the rides.
These routes are a compilation of the beautiful roads and routes once used on a now defunct century ride in southern Shasta Co.
The main highlight, other than the quiet roads and vistas of Shasta and Lassen, are the miles and miles of truly amazing stone walls alongside the road in the oak and pine foothill ranch lands east of Anderson.
The Saturday ride is rolling and gentle for the first 42 miles, then climbs easily from about 400 ft up to just over 2000 feet in eight miles and the last 25 miles are almost all downhill.
Daphne and Wasi plan to do a shorter 53 mile ride on Sunday in the same area, climbing a bit higher, into the pine forests just north of Hwy 44.
