This year’s TdM is scheduled for June 20th. It starts and ends in Sierraville, a small cow town nestled in an alpine valley with beautiful pastures surrounded by snow-capped peaks and green forests. The TdM offers 30-mile, 42-mile, and 62-mile loops, none with any serious climbing. The 62-mile ride is rated at BC/1.5(1000’)/62. Winter is the high season and summer the low season at Tahoe-Donner. Literally, hundreds of mountain homes are available for rent for the TdM weekend at incredibly low prices. We suggest that you form or join an affinity group of 4-8 people and rent one of these places for the weekend by visiting Airbnb or googling Tahoe-Donner vacation rentals. It’s way cheaper and more fun than any Holiday Inn.
