Neil Young Tribute Ride
Neil turns 74 this week, so we're celebrating his birthday with a tribute ride to one of the most influential rock musicians of our time and one of Woodside's most famous residents. This year, we have made some adjustments to the route including the start location, since the Alpine Inn has very limited parking now. While we will still eat lunch at the newly remodeled Alpine Inn, we will start our ride in Woodside Elementary School, enjoying an optional coffee before the ride at the Village Hub Coffee Bar.

Along the route, you will learn about Neil's local haunts and hear about some of his song inspirations. As tradition dictates, starting on the Native Son's climb and continuing on Star Hill, we will play some Neil Young favorites during the climbs. There is something special about breathing the fresh air and hearing "Old Man" in the place that inspired the song.

Meet at Woodside Elementary School at 10 AM for a 10:15 start. Bring layers and your favorite Neil Young stories to share along the way. Separate C-, C+ and D groups. C Leader: Cindy Asrir (casrir@gmail.com or 415-571-6581); D Leader: Frank Houghton (fphoughton@yahoo.com).

Start Location: Woodside Elementary School, 3195 Woodside Road in Woodside (park in the lot away from the school, or at the Pioneer Saloon, or ride to the start)

Start Time: 10 am for a 10:15 am start

Optional Coffee before the ride: Village Hub Coffee Bar, 3154 Woodside Rd (across the street--tell them you're from Western Wheelers for a 10% discount)
