C-/4/30 SUMMIT EXPLORER Join Guy Shuman (shumansteiner@gmail.com or 650-704-0895) for a beautiful climb through the redwoods on Old Santa Cruz Highway to the summit of the mountains. Meet at 10:00 am for a 10:15 departure at Lexington Reservoir. We'll explore Aldercroft Heights, climb Old Santa Cruz Highway to Summit Road, then dip back down to Wright Station for a history lesson and view of the old railroad tunnel under the mountains. After climbing back up we'll have lunch at the Summit Store before our easy return journey. Shortcut options available. Directions: Take 17 South to Bear Creek Road Exit, cross over Hwy 17 and get back on Hwy 17 going North, take first exit to Alma Bridge Road, park at gravel parking area on top of the dam. Restrooms are on right past dam in pay parking area. Social pace with regroups. Rain cancels.
