My name is Howard Shafer. My wife is Jacquette Ward. Maybe some of you remember us. Back in the old days we used to lead rides for Western Wheelers. We’ve decided to try it again. For a starter we’ve figured out these easy hills on the west side of the valley plus some flat, empty roads for getting there and back. We won’t start until 1:30 pm. Sleep in or go to church. You may have done some of these streets, but we’re pretty sure you haven’t done them in this order. The ride is short so there won’t be any lunch stop, but you can bring snacks for our regroups and bathroom stops. We’re not like the White House so be sure to have masks to wear at the stops, and remember that we do “social distancing.” Also, there’s been some smoky air lately, and if the Air Quality Index is over 100, we’ll postpone the ride for another day. We’ll also postpone it for hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, blizzards, atomic bombs, or locust plagues. Come join us at the Sunnyvale Community Center at 1:15 pm. We’ll leave promptly at 1:30 pm.
