A/0/22 GRAND TOUR OF ALVISO

  • Sun, July 25, 2021
  • 9:30 AM
  • Shoreline Park, Mountain View

Plus Lunch at El Taco de Oro  Join Pam Putman (pamjean1017@hotmail.com)  and Pat Elson (patelson@mac.com) at the Kite Flying parking lot in Shoreline Park, Mountain View, at 9:30 am for a 9:45 am start to ride the Bay Trail (mostly) to Alviso for lunch. (The Kite Flying Parking Lot is the parking lot about 100 feet past the entrance on the right. If you drive to the park and that lot is full, simply park in another  parking lot and ride your bike to the Kite Flying Parking Lot.)  We’ll ride along the Bay Trail behind Moffett Field and leave it at the Sunnyvale access point. Then we’ll ride  about a mile on Caribbean to the Baylands Park and continue  on to Alviso on the Bay Trail. In Alviso we’ll do the Grand Tour encompassing the Alviso Marina and the Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge Educational Center (unfortunately closed on Sundays) and then take Grand Blvd. to have lunch at  El Taco de Oro. The restaurant is a tiny place but has a lovely patio for outside eating. After lunch we’ll return to Shoreline Park by the same route which will be as lovely returning to Shoreline Park as it was going to Alviso.  Rain (however unlikely) cancels the ride.
