EASTERN SIERRA – ONION VALLEY

C/6(3300’)/15;

C/5(3300’)/21;

CD/6(5300)/27

This is one of the toughest climbs on our tour, sometimes called the hardest climb in California and comparable to Alp d’Huez.  Long stretches of 8-10%.  We’ll climb 5,200’ to beautiful Onion Valley (el. 9,200’).  SHORT option starts at Gray’s Meadow campground at 6,000 feet. The EZ START option (need carpool) follows the SHORT route, then glides all the way back down to Independence. Buy lunch at the end of the ride.  This ride is co-listed with ACTC.

NOTE: Most riders will check out of their hotel in Bishop, then check-in to Lone Pine hotel after the ride.
