Blood Road is a 2017 documentary by Nicolas Schrunk and starring endurance mountain biker Rebecca Rusch. It follows the journey of endurance mountain biker Rebecca Rusch and her riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the infamous Ho Chi Minh Trail through the dense jungles of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Their goal? To find the crash site and final resting place of Rebecca’s father, a U.S. Air Force pilot shot down over Laos 40 years earlier.
During the poignant voyage, the women push their bodies to the limit while learning more about the historic ‘Blood Road’ they’re traveling and how the Vietnam War shaped their lives.
The movie won numerous festival awards and a News & Documentary Emmy in 2018. The running time is 1 hour, 36 minutes and you can watch the trailer here.
