B/0.5/47 FREMONT with the GOLDEN OLDIES

Last year we had an 80-kilometer ride for club 80-year-olds. We’ve decided to do it again, except all those 80-year-olds are now a little older, and we’ve made the ride a little shorter. We dedicate this ride to all members over eighty and to all those who will soon be eighty as well as those who wish they were eighty and those who are glad they aren’t. Meet Howard Shafer (408 712-4573 or jhshafer@sbcglobal.net) and Jacquette Ward at the Sunnyvale Community Center in Sunnyvale at 9:15 am for a 9:30 am departure. We’ll follow bike paths wherever possible all the way to Fremont and back. The Dumbarton Bridge will be the biggest hill. We’ll eat lunch in the East Bay (bring or buy) and then follow a rural route past Milpitas and Alviso on the way back to Sunnyvale, completing a circle. Hot weather will slow us down.
