C-/4/28 CALAVERAS AND PICNIC ON SIERRA

C-/4/28  CALAVERAS AND PICNIC ON SIERRA  Our route will take us up Calaveras Road for some great views of the reservoir and hopefully some soaring eagles and hawks. We'll turn around at the "County Line" and backtrack to Felter Road. Our ascent up Felter to Sierra Road will be via the "back door" route that is much gentler than Sierra's front side. At the summit we'll enjoy a quick picnic with an incredible view (BYO lunch/snacks) before enjoying a fantastic descent on Sierra Road to the finish. This is a hilly route, but we'll do it at a C- pace with frequent regroups. Make sure you pack a snack/sandwich and extra water, as there are no supplies along the way. Meet at 10:00 am for a 10:15  start at the NE corner of Cataldi Park (2920 Cataldi Drive, San Jose): Hwy 237 east, I-880 south, Montague Expressway east, right on Morrill Ave., right on Cataldi Drive.
