The Henry Coe ride is CANCELLED due to parking problems at Uvas Reservoir. We will be doing the Local Hills FFS ride instead - starting at Gunn High School. See separate listing for details.

FALL FUN SERIES ROAD TO HENRY COE STATE PARK

C/3/44; D/3/48 (with alternate C- option)

This route is the way to Henry Coe State Park. The road starts going up about 10 miles from the start, at an average 8% grade (400 ft up over one mile). A 200 ft descent leads to the Anderson dam and a nice picnic area. The real climb starts after the picnic area: About 7.5 miles of climbing at a 7% average with steeper sections along the way. The good news is that the only way back to the start is mostly downhill. The views from the ranger station located near the top are spectacular. Soft drinks and snacks await at the ranger station, while the route stops briefly for lunch at Erik's Deli near the end of the ride. (This ride offers a second option for C- riders, which is the same route as the Morgan Hill LDT C route, offering straight, flat roads across beautiful fields and a climb up scenic Gilroy Hot Springs Rd. Bring ENOUGH FOOD AND WATER to last 40 miles before the lunch break in Morgan Hill.  Route sheets will be provided at the start for both C options).  Rain or extreme heat cancels. . MEETING TIME: Meet at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM start

MEETING LOCATION/DIRECTIONS: Uvas Reservoir Park (14350 Uvas Road, Morgan Hill, CA), take the Tennant Rd exit, off 101. Right on Tennant. Left on Monterey, Right on Watsonville Rd, Right on Uvas Rd.

RIDE GROUPS:  Three options are offered on FFS rides: Slower C group (C-) with social pace and mandatory regroups; Faster C group (C+) with a bit faster pace and shorter regroups; D group with a bit longer and/or more challenging route.
