Join the Harding family and other cyclists to dedicate the San Mateo Drive Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge in honor of Mike Harding, who played a key role in getting this link between Menlo Park and Stanford built in the 1970s. Mike was a long-time Western Wheeler, serving many roles including President and Sequoia Chair for four years in the 1970s. Most importantly, he loved to ride and to work to make cycling better for all. Fittingly, the dedication will be the day after the annual Davis Double, a ride that Mike completed more than 30 times. Meet either at Burgess Park along Alma in Menlo Park, ready to roll at 9:45 AM sharp, OR meet at 10:00 AM at the Bridge. After the dedication, we'll do a "Davis-Double Recovery" ride: a leisurely ride around the Portola Loop and on to the WW Picnic at Rengstorff Park. Organizer: John Langbein john_langbein@yahoo.com.
