Join the Western Wheelers Bicycle Club on Sunday June 7, 2026 for the 50th running of The Sequoia, a thrilling cycling experience set amidst the captivating coastal mountains and redwood forests of the San Francisco Bay Area. There are a variety of course options ranging from a gently rolling 43 mile Fun ride to a hilly Century ride. All routes traverse the most scenic roads this area has to offer. For gravel bike enthusiasts, new this year is an 80-mile course that contains 12 miles (15%) on packed dirt roads or trails. Here's your chance to experience quiet pathways through the hills, while still visiting the event's Rest Stops to refuel with great food and drinks. Due to land use restrictions, registration on the 80-mile with Gravel course is limited to 49 riders and ebikes are not allowed. Be sure to register early before this option sells out. Route Choices There are five beautiful routes to choose from, with varying prices:
For details about each route, including links to the RideWithGPS files, see Sequoia 2026 Routes. Finish Line Activities and Timing As you cross the finish line, you will be welcomed with cheers and cow bells to celebrate your accomplishment. After getting your bike parked in the valet parking area, a delicious buffet lunch/dinner is offered to all participants. Lunch will be served from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM. If riders finish earlier they are welcome to find a place to rest and wait. Depending on supplies, box meals may be available until 6 PM, at which point the finish line will be completely shutdown. A Fundraising Cycling Event Proceeds from the Sequoia are used to support bicycling organizations and Coastside communities. The Coastside charities include Puente de la Costa Sur, Abundant Grace Coastside Worker, and La Honda Volunteer Fire Brigade while the bicycling organizations include advocacy groups like Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and bike donation groups like Good Karma Bikes. Over $95,150 has been donated to these and other groups from Sequoia proceeds since 2017. Your registration form includes an option to donate an additional $25 to these causes.
